The company you choose provides boxes if you want, but they pack everything and basically shrink wrap any furniture etc, they also crate anything really valuable or breakable and need to label and identify each box. You can do some of the packing yourself, but they need to see whats in there.

They also send you all the relevant forms etc with regard to your goods coming into NZ.

Ideally if you need a container pick one that loads directly into the container rather than loading into a van and then the container, its generally cheaper and also avoids double packing and so hopefully less breakages.

Also get several quotes, they do vary, ours varied by over £1.5K - also worth asking to see if they can do any better if you particularly like one company rather than another, but they are slightly more expensive.

See the recent thread on insurance, as generally insurance is cheaper if you do it yourself rather than using the removal peoples one.

we used P S S and know others on here that have and all was good, but as ellenarosemary says you need to get a couple of companies round to quote and see who you prefer

We are using Chudleys of Ilminster for a 40' container, who so far have been excellent and very co-operative and informative. They are in Somerset, but do nationwide. Look them up on the internet if you want to ring them.
