Removal Company Advice wanted
We are now in the process of downsizing our accumulated crap from the house and double garage in preparation for the International Removal guys to come in. Does anybody have any info on which removers in the London area as we live in the Hertfordshire were good to use. There are obviously quite a few here but we haven't got the time to get every removals company in. So does anybody have any recommendations. Also any advice on Insurance for the contents. The D Day for completion is the 23rd Nov, so helllllllllllllllp.

We used White and Co . They are a franchise and we played one office against another to get a competitive quote. Everything went smoothly . Nothing was damaged.

Re: Removal Company Advice wanted
try looking up PSS international removals.
We spoke to them and they were very helpful and would be able to arrange all/any insurance you might need.
they told us about the different types of insurance, what each would cover,
who to contact....everything.
we were very impressed with them.
they gave a rough quote of around £3500 for a 20 foot container which they
said woid would easilly take the contents of a 3 bed semi or detatched

We used The Removal Group, a broker who uses various removal firms including F&N Worldwide, PSS, Crown etc as they gave us cheaper quote than each individual firm. They work countrywide.
We had F&N Worldwide come and pack. They were great. Container arrived in just 6 weeks. No damage. We also used Letton Percival for insurance.

We used Crown, and didn't insure at all. Everything was great.

We used PSS and Van lines this end, everything was great, insured through PSS, but nothing broken.
I spoke to crown and all they wanted to know was how much other companies had quoted and were very reluctant to come and price up the house.

crown came & did a quote & we had a couple of others come & quote to crown was the mid quote), we then used the lowest quote to haggle a price with crown, also haggled the cost of the insurance to, & we only insured the stuff we wanted to.

We used White and Co in the East Midlands and they use The Moving Company here. Just a tip to make sure the quote doesn't include payment for Maff Inspection here. We were quoted over $500 by The Moving Company but said we would pay Maff direct. We were still charged a fee by them to allow Maff to inspect our goods on their premises and we weren't allowed to be there!!! The overall charge was still under $200 though.
