Hi

We have to move our things out to NZ within the month so have to move fast.

I am trying to find a page where people review Removal Companies. Is there one place to go online where there are reviews in one place. At the moment I am finding bits of information here and the odd comment there, but wondered if anyone knows of a good place to look for many reviews.

At the moment, these are my notes, but some of them are based on what just one or two people said and some comments are from 5 years ago so I'm not sure how up to date it is:

1. Not Britannia
2. Not Pickfords
3. Not PSS
4. Not Ems hansard

Anglo Pacific – positive remarks
White and Company – positive remarks

It seems that the company at the NZ end (unpacking) is very important too.

All advice welcome.

Regards,

Pronto

Hi

Does anyone know of a website or websites that shows the full costs of shipping cars and campervans to NZ.

Or maybe has done the research themselves and has a document they could send.

I'm googling but not finding anything comprehensive and it will be a slow job approaching each company individual and then having to quiz them about costs at the NZ end.

Many thanks.

Pronto

Hi Pronto,

We actually wrote a thread about the British Association of Removals reviews site which I think does what you're looking for?

Hi Kirsty P

Thanks so much. That's exactly what I thought there must be somewhere.

We used Whites and they were excellent. Their agent in Wellington was The Moving Company and they were great, even rebuilding our flat pack furniture for us.

After moving a family of four internationally 4 times in the last 4 years I find one company is pretty much the same as the next so long as you read your contract meticulously! We used Allied Pickfords for our last two moves (NZ-USA and back) and found they we really good, the wellington unpacking team were great and I liked the way we got assigned a case manager here in NZ before we even left USA.

However we have had bad experiences with Conway during a domestic move in NZ whereby they changed our contract (after we added some items to the original contract to be included in the move) by taking out the packing and asked us to resign a copy without specifying the packing changes. We (stupidly) did not reread the entire contract thinking we had just added more furniture to the contract. We then got a phone call the afternoon before our move confirming we had to pack all of the house ourselves in time for the movers arriving at 9am the next day. We were not happy to say the least - but the move to Wellington was worth the stress!

Good luck and <snip>

I used PSS and had all kinds of problems with them I would not recommend them at all. You could try Masons who operate from merseyside, my friend who worked in shipping used them all the time and recommended them but I was already booked in with PSS which was a huge costly mistake.

I would second MrsF, PSS and NZ Van Lines were both tip top as far as we were concerned.

But then people on here have reported having a shocker with PSS. So ....
