Default Region Free DVD Player

Can anyone recommend a good region-free DVD player. After 12 years my British bought one has died!! We did have a cheap Philips one, given away free with a printer here, worked fine once hacked, but that only lasted 14 months

We were told they are all region free and have been for the last few years, sometimes you need to unlock the region lock and you can put the dvd player model number into google and get the code.

The last two we brought here are region free.

If you buy a new Panasonic player, you can have it unlocked to be multizone for free. In Christchurch it's done at Ascots. I had it done and it takes literally a few minutes

My Samsung BluRay player had to be tweaked to allow it to play UK purchased DVDs.

Just google the make and model number to get the instructions.

A sony DVPSR750HP from JB Hifi is unlocked, bought one yesterday for our daughter. Panasonic can be unlocked by an authorised person just ask the place you intend to buy from. Bought a Panasonic blu ray about a month ago and JB Hifi gave me a contact person who came out and unlocked if free of charge, they just bill Panasonic. Good luck

I got a cheap DVD player from Dick Smith when I arrived. It can be switched to region free pretty easily through the settings menu.
Works well and still going strong.

As far as I know all Panasonics are now region free.

That is what I was told when I bought a new one last year...in Australia.
