I think because people find it tedious to understand the other systems. Also could be emigrants hankering after home .

Or because it's a better system to deliver strong government. Strong governments can make the hard decisions, they may not always be the right ones but they are decisive. Nothing of great impetus ever gets achieved by committee. Increasing the term to four years should have been the referendum subject IMHO
