Referendum 2011

Which of four other voting systems would you choose if New Zealand decides to change from MMP. The four alternative voting systems being:

First Past the Post (FPP);
Preferential Voting (PV);
Single Transferable Vote (STV);
Supplementary Member (SM).

I hope NZ votes to keep MMP. It's one of the good things about NZ compared to UK, a fair voting system.

I don't like FFP. Quite like MMP but unsure about how the list thing works. Just on reading the Herald summaries I liked the sound of STV. Still undecided, so I'll be interested to hear what people say.

mmmm.........depends on what fair means :unsure:

I prefer the idea of STV and SM personally - less power for unaccountable party machines and minor-minor parties

Just got back from a local residents association meet and greet with the local electorate and party candidates... none of the smaller parties seemed to want to get rid of MMP...

Brilliant.
Had a leaflet from our local green candidate and he looks like he should still be at school.

Or I'm getting old.
