Really nice slippers...

I want some really nice slippers. Like really nice. Like a smoking jacket but for your feet. UK size 12 with a wide fit.

Have money and will travel. Ideas?

I've been carefully crafting my persona in an anti-casual footwear type way since I got here just to fool you all.

Okay can we get gauge on 'really nice', are we talking good old Man@Marks stuff or something more top notch like you might visualise James Bond or George Clooney would wear. LOL

I was thinking quilting, silk, supple leather etc.

And it worked, you old dog, you!

I'm not really a slippers person so I don't know where you'd get what you're looking for. I'm suspecting you want the suave gentlemen's club type and I can't see you finding them in Number1 Shoes;)

I have a pair similar to this. I have taken care of them and cherished them for probably a decade, but the fleecy lining has worn flat and I could do with a new pair. :(

I struggled to think of anywhere where I have seen a proper gentleman's type of shoe shop - but remembered there's: Search : T. Clark Men's Shoes - slippers in Queens Arcade (Queen Street) that might fit the bill.

Thanks for the links but I've not found the pair for me yet. I tried Nordstrom as well without luck. Thanks for the message of support as well Pulaski, it's good to know I'm not going through this alone .

I love my slippers from Farmers, pure wool lining and leather outer, luxuriously comfortable, cost $90 but well worth it, I needed an 11 but couldn't find one but found the size 10 was roomy enough - go have a look

Mrs B swears by Ugg boots for slippers, she has a couple of pairs - they do quite a range of styles, not just the standard sheepskin.

I can't help with the slipper thing, I get Mr Big Sticks his from M&S. But I do hope that when you find the right pair that you will wear them with a smoking jacket, have a large glass of brandy on a wee drinks table and be smoking a pipe.

Just the image I have of you now.

Brandy? Port or Sherry perhaps.

Still no closer to actually finding these slippers.

I find a single malt complements my slippers most nicely. :)

BTW Landsend ships internationally. Just watch out for the sizes, which are one number larger than UK shoe sizes.
