Hi,

I am starting to look at jobs in NZ however I don't seem to find an equivalent.

I am a systems librarian in the higher education sector.

I basically manage the library system at a University for the circulation of the stock, (the system that issues and returns items).

I am sure that there are such positions in NZ but I think they may be under a different name

Any ideas or any systems librarian out there that can guide me in the right direction

NZ is a small market and specialised jobs are rare.

I have in the past 50 years had to retrain 10 times to keep working.

keep in mind 4 million people over the size of england
not 4 million in one city

think laterally as to what your skills can be converted to.

a friend of mine from korea was a specalized chemical engineer
no work here
and i helped him retrain to a violin maker and now very sucessful in australia.

so be prepared to change

There was a job advertised recently in our (small) local library and they were asking for a Level 6 Diploma in Library and Information Studies
