It would seem that these rapists obviously didn’t just rape but the article states horrific injuries.

I am posting to these types of crimes that are increasing in frequency in NZ. Please don’t shrug these off as oh well it’s everywhere. If this was your daughter it would change your mind

Where is it not happening, I won't even bother to answer that for a number of reasons.

1) I am still waiting for you to answer my question.
2) If I do answer it, it will add some credibility to what you have said and been unable to substantiate (see 1)

Bad things do happen.
I've posted about this before, when the dutch couple were abducted not that long ago. I live very near where that happened.
What I feel is different here compared to elsewhere ( or where I used to live anyway) is the utter horror, shock and outrage that caused. It wasn't looked on as "just another bad thing, they happen all the time..."

It was so shocking - because it doesn't happen all the time - at all.

I'm just wondering why you are making such a point of posting this? ( Honest question) I don't think anyone is saying they don't believe these things happen, we can all read the papers.
But for me I still feel safe here. ( that being said I felt perfectly safe in the east end of Glasgow too, cos I'm well hard - not actually)

My point is that I believe it is not totally honest to be projecting this fuzzy & warm NZ to people who are actually considering moving here. I was under the impression that is the core purpose of this site.

I am constantly amazed at the amount of denial I get and the abusive nature of attacks received when anyone one posts anything deemed negative about NZ. My point is why is the UK in such a sad state now?

I think it is healthy to have these truths be known, you know - freedom of speech. I believe I have that right in NZ and this forum is where we can offer our opinions (note the plural).

I don’t think these kind of news articles will make it to the UK press and it seems that many of the BE members don’t want to read this kind of news. Can you explain that?

Well done for changing the title but it doesn't change it on the forum page so problem still exists.

I may have naively showed my opinions.

My points are still valid however.

Title was inappropriate and possibly hurtful.

You are a prominent forumista and your opinions are taken on board by most, and that is a worthwhile thing to do.

However when you do it by making sweeping general statements it is no better than the people who think when they move to NZ they are never going to have a problem again.

So I will repeat myself

There are more points but I may as well wait for you to answer original questions first.

If it makes you feel better you have won the argument which I never wanted. Using Cameron-esque devices however i.e.constantly changing it.

It may also be worth pointing out that I do not care or take personally anything said on this thread.

All I wanted was an answer to my original two questions (see above).
