Question Re: Can anyone help a friend in France??!!

Hi all - a friend in France is also trying to emigrate to NZ and has sent me the following email:

Just a quick question. We have been told to apply for a working to residence visa and that we have to both complete separate application forms. Also the children need to fill in individual forms for students but the application forms for work visa/student visa do not seem to give you the option to say that I am the primary applicant and my family are coming on the basis that I have a job to go to. Can you help clear this matter up?

Has anyone on forum had a similar experience? We ourselves are going via the Skilled Migrant route.... so I'm unfamiliar with this!

Hi Suki
can't help much but I do remember that under work to residence all parties have to apply seperately - I am sure that a covering letter explaining the status would suffice though

Hiya

We went on work visas (me and the OH) my 8yr old on a student visa and the baby on a visitors visa and from what I remember there wasn't much information needed for ours (mine and the kids) just lots for the primary applicant with the job offer (my OH).. especially the kids visa's they were almost left blank!! i do remember a question was asked about who would be supporting us financially and I wrote my OH would be working over there. I didn't panic too much (even though I was a bit confused) because we were going in person to NZIS in London so thought I could fill stuff in once I got there, but it seems I did everything correctly.

Hope that helps?? I think the main application is the most important to get right ie: proof of history of work etc. and references.
