You could always do something really random and fly up to one of the glaciers in the west coast of south island NZ (weather dependant of course) with a marriage celebrant etc....There are companies that specialise in weddings for overseas people in NZ just google it...
Good luck.....This may give you some ideas and information. http://www.theweddingcompany.co.nz/

Re: Quick Wedding in NZ?
Im doing this to stay in NZ?? immigration service would be interested?? backpackers?
you got all this from the word "quick"?:-) Thanks for all replies I understand your concerns re illegal immigratio but dont be too alert:-) , I have never been to NZ and do not intend to stay there by no way:-)
My Australian partner and me are living in different continents at the moment and will be apart probably for another half a year, its quite a situation so we think we ll just get married when Im next time in Australia, thinking of New Zealand at the moment, sounds just fine to me, I mean paperwork, timing, pretty views:-) My partner insists on Australia though:-((
j19fmm, thanks again for the link, very helpful. it does seem that easy.

But then if your partner is insisting on Oz you may be out of luck!

I think cally49's link was in response to your above post. If you have found the paperwork you need and it is "easy" then she's suggesting you have a look at the wedding company if you wish to have the actual event organised for you as you are not here or glean some ideas from the site.
But then if your partner is insisting on Oz you may be out of luck!

yes sure. Sorry I didnt mean to be rude or anything, I was just saying I really couldnt find legal info on those sites, thats why I asked, not because I didnt bother to look. But the Cally's site is the one we will use I think if we go for NZ finally. I d seen it before and actually due to that site I started thinking of NZ, the previous dream was Santorini in Greece which is not going to work out now, and NZ looked differently but as well nice. The site does have lots of ideas. Hope the places are as pretty as seem on photos:-)
Lots of people seem to get married on the beach - don't know if that's an option for you or whether it's too hard to organise yourself without being here? Will it just be the 2 of you or will you fly over family and friends or have some here? How exciting! I'm available for weddings, christenings etc ...
