A question about medicals....
Hi!
We live in Derbyshire, and were wondering... who did people use to do their medicals for PR?
I have been in the immigration website and to me its just names, so we were thinking we would ask you all for your recommendations and experiences, having done this (some of you) already!
We don't mind travelling, Brum, Notts etc.
Also, about how long does it take for results to appear?
Many thanks!!

Re: A question about medicals....
Cant help with where to get it done as we had ours in manchester.
All i can say is you dont have to an olympic athelete to pass.
if you consider yourself fairly healthy (i smoke, love bigmacs and have NEVER been to gym) you'll be fine.
The clinic was very freindly,we were given CD's with our xrays on for the kids to look at on the pc when we got home.
The full results took around 3 weeks to arrive.
I cant remember if it was on this forum or another nz forum but one lady
member commented that she was suprised when the doctor asked her to
her underwear (pants) during the examination, this shouldnt happen and following a discusion on the
forum she reported the doctor to nz house.

Re: A question about medicals....
I haven't done mine yet but I just phoned round all those reasonably close to me to ask about costs and also what sort of waiting lists they had. There is quite a difference in price so ring round.
I found that they all had very short waiting lists as well so left doing it [luckily -if you've read my story!] until I received an ITA

We live in Tonbridge. Phoned the doc in Dover. They couldn't give us a price and waiting time for appointment was over 6 weeks. We ended up going to one near Gatwick Dr Talent, Aviation Medical Services, Povey Cross Road or something). The hospital was right next door for x-rays. He was very thorough (unfortunately - requested reports from our GP for my thyroid, my OH blood pressure details and my 14 year old son who had small hole in heart at birth which was fine by time he was 3) which at 84 quid a time was expensive. Also insisted on echocardiogram for 14 year, at another £258. Very polite, very quick just very thorough. Also weighed us with boots on - not good if, like my husband, you;re a bit overweight already lol!

We lived on Notts/Derbys border & we used these:-
Nottingham Nuffield Hospital, 748 Mansfield Road, Woodthorpe, Nottingham
It's near the City Hospital. Had all the results within a couple of weeks.

The Reigate one was cheaper by about £50 per person when I did my quotes and that was my first preference. Unfortunately because of the ITA delay I'm now having to get in where I can and get them done asap. Due to work commitments I had to book it yesterday and couldn't get through to the Reigate one. Could be worth a try

Sue, make sure you wear the lightest footwear possible, or take off shoes in waiting room before you're called through!

We live in Leics & went to Tudor Medical Centre in Notts, then over to Park Hospital for x-rays.
The four of us were in there, in total, for 1 hour - that'll be £1000 please.
We didn't mind paying more though, just for the convenience of not schlepping our kids to London & back (much cheaper places I found were in London)
Tests on Monday, results & x-rays back on Thursday same week!!!!!!
