Queen's Birthday?

Queen's Birthday?
Is anyone doing anything exciting this long weekend?
It may be that I'm a little late asking, as those who are, probably are off doing "it" already!
We have an extra long weekend as our 2 youngest have Tuesday off too as a "Teacher Only" day!
Our weekend - as most, is spent with 10 year old son and his racing. All day today and all day tomorrow. So that kind of dictates how our time is spent. Monday I'd love to go off and do something different - I fancy Hot Water Beach for the day - tide times permitting - but have a feeling Hubby has booked a game of golf ...
So I expect I'll spend it with the kids just mooching about. So, in answer to my own question - No, we are not doing anything exciting.

Re: Queen's Birthday?
We did footie in the morning, MkII's team won 11-1 or something and he was PoD. Which was good.
I did footie in the afternoon, when it absolutely p!$$d down and we lost....badly..... in a local derby (worse), but at least we had dug-outs to shelter in!
Tomorrow we are off to Wellsford-by-Sea for a couple of nights as my folks head back to blighty later in the week - we too have a teacher day on Tuesday.
Hope the weather picks up for the next couple of days and here's to a good holiday break.

Not that we have kids but teacher day was Friday .
I will be having a stressful weekend making executive decisions & supervising the husband putting down the base for the greenhouse.
We are moving it from the top of the section to the bottom.
All of this has been very tiring and husband has now retired for the night.

We've spent the morning making aioli and getting the crays ready for this afternoon, having a barby with friends.
We're getting 2 highland cows delivered in the morning so that's very exciting.
( just pets not freezer fillers!)

oh, the harshness of winter .....in Welly!.
even my coffee this morning had cooled down so quickly before taking a sip. yuck! There's nothing worse than drinking lukewarm beverages the least appealing of all temperatures.
wish could stay at home today -- baking cookies, making a good homemade stew, watching films. ... or drinking hot tea...or something.
at least, I am listening to gloomy Brahms works for Piano, Opus 116~119...
Hope you have a great time with folks at Barbie. It actually seems more fun................

We're spending a quiet weekend at home. We were going to have a night away and see Mt Taranaki but the weather has not worked in my favour I want a dry clear sunny day so I can see the volcano properly.
So no I am not doing anything exciting this weekend, will have some red wine later...

Bugger! Are you saying it's a clear sunny day in New Plymouth? I don't care about the cold as long as I can see the mountain. I blame Mr Sue who ALWAYS believes the weather forecast and won't go anywhere if it says it will be cloudy or rain

Raining, at least we didn't bother then! No rain here in Palmy yet. Weather forecast says weather will be good again on Tuesday over there-the day everyone goes back to work of course
We'll be over there one weekend at some point in the future I have a friend in the UK who is really into geology and is so jealous that I now live within driving range of volcanoes
