Pub quiz
Who fancies a pub quiz??
There's one every Tuesday night here in JRs in Rangiora and its a real good laugh with $60 vouchers for first prize and others for second, third and fourth. Numbers have been dwindling over the last few months and there was only us and another team (also Poms) yesterday.
I hope this isn't classed as an advert as I have no financial incentive - in fact quite the opposite as more teams would reduce our chances of winning the prizes! Just more teams would make it a bit more entertaining. Starts at 7.30 every Tuesday.......any questions???????

Re: Pub quiz
Pub quizzes are great fun but be aware that they ask soooo many Kiwi questions that us new immigrants struggle with!! Make sure you have a couple of friendly Natives in your team if you want to stand a chance

have feeling of deja vue! am sure you posted same last year and we still haven't made it to one
Is that really all thats in JRs on a Tuesday night - a handful of poms?
How many are required in a team? Is there an entry fee? Are there categories, like sport, entertainment, natural world or just all general knowledge?

Yes always categories lilke those you mention, plus bonus rounds and other formats, not just Q & A. It's a good laugh and Kev the landlord is a good host. If you think he's a bit thick, he's not, just dyslexic so he gets some of the words a bit confused, but they are on a screen anyway.
It normally finishes about 10, but it has been earlier due to the small numbers. Bit late for young kids, but there is a playstation set up in the upstairs area.
