Default PR & Flight booking...

Hello,

Me and my girlfriend have just received notification that our PR Application has been handed to a Case Officer and so now we are waiting for an answer... My question to those who have done it before is therefore:

what is the best thing to do about booking flights? Immigration NZ say not to make irreversible travel plans but we want to book the cheapest flights (so need to do this in advance?) and know when we are going. We could buy a return but then may have no need to use it if accepted.

What have other members done/experienced with this issue?

Thanks

Hi depends on several things, has your visa officer emailed you with an interview date?
Do you have a job offer to go to?
Just the worst case maybe that there are issues with medicals or other ITA details which may delay your PR approval, so I would probably wait till your more certain.

Good luck

I would wait until you have a decision. We had unforseen delays and so ended up going after our anticipated departure date.

We ended up booking flights on the 26th for the 8th April (ie a week and a half before hand) and got 2 singles from Heathrow to Wellington for just over £1100, which I thought was pretty cheap.

So yeah, I'd wait and you may still find a cheap flight anyway.

Thanks for the info, my girlfriend has been contacted by our case officer who says that once he receives some additional info from us (updated work experience letter and an additional information from from me) said that he would hope to arrange a telephone interview within a couple of weeks.

Guess we will just wait, keep our fingers crossed and then look at flights. Thanks for the steer in the right direction!

Surely this answers your own question.
A not so cheap single would still be cheaper than a semi useless return wouldn't it?
