Moonpig or equivalent company are good for doing last minute cards.

Re: Postal dates for UK
Cost of postage makes is not worth sending anything from here - I have bought a book of ten stamps ($22.50 - you get one free) as I have done most years and just send cards to the very nearest and dearest rellies. This method does come with some element of risk, as it usually means some dear old auntie will have to be struck off the list due to running out of stamps.
I did try the Moonpig thing one year and found it way more more expensive and laborious than writing and posting cards.

Re: Postal dates for UK
other option is to find someone who is popping over for a holiday over the Christmas period and ask them to post it when they get to UK

My sister was visiting mum in the UK, so got her to sign a bunch of cards from me and post them there, no one will be any the wiser as have similar handwriting.

I order from UK retails sites for UK based relatives. I've done my annual despatch (dispatch) exercise for Christmas presents to be delivered in December.
I'll post the UK cards shortly, taking into account the last posting dates for Britain.

Re: Postal dates for UK
Thanks for the reminder about Christmas, I get a bit confused because it's summer.
It's our first christmas away this year, and just wondering what to actually get people back home. I was thinking of sending stuff from NZ, but to be honest the only thing I can think of is Whittaker's chocolate or something!
What UK retailers do gift wrapped orders, does anyone regularly use any particular shops?
Cheers all, and Merry Christmas! ho ho

Re: Postal dates for UK
I usually always try to send stuff from here, so this year i bought a tiny pair of karen walker stud earrings for my neice in Switzerland and went to post them on Friday and nearly fainted at the cost.
Apparently NZ Post is insisting all jewellery, evem costume and childrens play stuff has to go international courier and charge an extra $20 for the privilidge!!! So wanted to charge me $48 to send a tiny box 2.5.cm squared.... Told them no way and will just get my mum to take home with her in January.
Contacted NZ Post who were at best hopeless.
But i try and send kiwi products, as they keep wanting us to buy local, but when we do we are penalised sending them overseas. Won't be doing it again, back to online m&s for me

I gave up a while ago.
Now I order via UK and get sent from there although it does not sit well . I've explained why
Stoopid postal costs this end and the other end may well end up with a surcharge.
Complete pile of crock.
