possum v squirrel- face off
I hear possums are as big a nuisance in NZ as grey squirrels in the UK so which one is the greater pest...
( This is a bit of a fun question, however I do hear that possums are not valued highly on the cute factor over there)

Unlike Australia, possums are hated over here, and are seen as a pest (I might be wrong, but I think they eat ground dwelling bird eggs). I've heard numerous stories about bounties that used to be offered on dead possums.
I'd say they are more hated here than greys are in the UK.

There's over 80 million of the things here.
You get bonus points for running them over apparently, not that I would!
Well, actually I did once, in a campervan, but I wasn't swerving that thing at 90km/h
They're endangered in Aussie!

The only good possum is a dead possum made into gloves, scarves, socks and other warm attire.
I personally think NZ should get rid of a departure tax and have a possum tax. Can't leave unless you take one with you. Drop it in Australia on your way somewhere.

Bottom line is that possums do not belong in NZ and should be eradicated.

I ran over a dead one - it was solid like running over a rock!
