Possible move to Auckland
hi all, first post on the NZ board for me although I've been reading posts for the last week or so, so firstly hello!
I'm up for a job in Albany, Auckland so am trying to be proactive and do my research. Currently I am Looking at housing and schools
I'm struggling to make sense of the size of Auckland and all the suburbs, so can anyone suggest what areas I should be looking for for housing please? We'd be looking for a 2/3 bed house and it makes sense to be located close(ish) to Albany.
Also, schools, we have a 9yo son, so I also need to look at primary school as well as housing neighbourhoods. At the moment I'm just looking at Albany, but any other suggestions on areas to look at would be greatly appreciated, we don't have a budget as yet
what are the chances of renting a furnished house? Are they freely available or few and far between? We currently rent fully furnished, so would have no furniture at all to bring with us, and don't fancy having to buy a load of 2nd furniture a soon as we land!
Thanks in advance!

Albany is an ideal place to work because you can pretty much get to work within half an hour from anywhere between Takapuna and Whangaparaoa on the north side of the harbour bridge. All that area around Albany through to the eastern bays are all fairly newish and handyish. Big subdivisions going up around Long Bay. For rentals have a look at realestate.co.nz. Click on rentals - Auckland - North Shore City. Requiring furnished narrows the scope a bit and rentals can be expensive.

Thanks! Good to know work is in a good place (potentially lol)
I checked out the real estate site and furnished rentals seem to be a rarity, so I'm wondering whether there are second hand shops / charity shops that sell furniture? I could cope with one shop, but the lot, not sure I could cope with spending all my time checking the classifieds!
