The N W coast of the US is overdue for a 7 to 9 seismic event. More or less if you live along the Pacific, nearly anywhere it's a matter of time. I'm sure it's true in many other geological regions as well. Tick Tick...

I guess that was directed at me
, It came across differently than wanted. Spent many years in earthquake territory, so I understand. The tick tock refered to my area which is overdue for a HUGE quake. Sorry for my unintentional callousness.

My dad just rang to check on us after hearing the news on UK radio.
I just turned on the Italian news - at least 10 people confirmed dead so far. Fears for more trapped under a collapsed building.
Bloody awful.

All the best to you and take care. We were in Italy when it happened for a last minute holiday to my aunts apartment but we were in south. Some of my geographically confused friends texted me to ask if i was near it.
It's so scary and theres nothing you can do about it so sad to hear about the deaths
