Sorry I don't have a central contact number, but if you google the name of your county's police headquarters, they might be able to help you. My police check (when I lived in the US) just went via my home county's police HQ. They were my main contact for Scotland Yard. Please do bear in mind that the current time is about 40 days. 42 days, without counting days off for weekends, is 6 weeks. If you only count working days, then 40 days is 8 weeks.

Good luck!

All police checks go to Scotland yard for processing, if you look on there site you should get a contact number there.

I contacted our police HQ yesterday and was told it should not be more than 40 days, not working days, but 40 days including weekends, holidays etc.

I got through to them. I'm not sure it was on that number though but.
Try ringing the Met and asking to talk to someone about Subject Access.
If you have any more problems get in touch with The Information Commissioner's Office
