I'm sure people have done this from the UK before arriving in NZ. If so, is there an online form (I can't find one) or could somebody kindly scan in a form for me and I can complete it and post it off directly to my chosen Post shop?
Isn't this what you want?

We called from the UK and were told that it has to be done in person. Others seem to have been told the opposite.

If you call into the post shop when you get here it only takes five minutes to set up.

thanks guys - you are sooo quick :-) I'm tired and stressed and posted without going onto the FAQ section of Post shop, only to find that when I did, I found the answer! They can send a form to complete from the UK and it has to be faxed back 2 weeks before the box is ready. I just wanted to sort it all out so that my post from my last 3 addresses in the UK gets redirected.

exactly what i did - got them to email me the forms (by e-fax) and i was able to email the forms back into the support ticket i had opened with them along with scanned copies of my id.

had no problems with it since - other than having to travel and park up to get to Manners Street with two kids in tow is actually harder work than I thought it could be! So be sure about which post shop you want and that it is convenient for you.
