OK so we're probably going to rent a beachfront holiday home somewhere on the Kapiti Coast (paaaaaaarty! ) and the only place I've found to look is www.holidayhomes.co.nz

Anyone know of any other websites that list more holiday homes? We'll be renting for about 10 days, so a hotel would be really expensive, and we want to get a good feel for the place.

Wow thank you so much Poppets! You rule, that's marvelous. And I'd love to meet up with you when we're over! Our idea is to not just do the touristy stuff, but also see if it's somewhere we'd like to live out our days, hence not getting a hotel. Being from East Anglia, and even though the North Sea isn't the most delightful, and now being 50 miles from the nearest inland lake, I really really really miss the sea! We have a lake at the back of our house, but it's just not enough. I love the water. I nearly bought a houseboat when I lived in the South Midlands... kind of regret not doing that. OK so now I'm waffling horribly, sorry!

thats ok lovely you waffle, i love living here we are currently a 10 min walk from waikanae beach. i come from hertfordshire orginally so the beach was about a 2hr drive!!!
