No, not even sure how you got that impression
. We used John Mason and thought they were brilliant. Someone else used them and had nothing but problems, shit happens when humans are involved.

To be honest, I do think it is the luck of the draw. I know someone whose container had severe water damage and several items chipped/broken and they shipped with none of the above.
I felt for them though as they went through the insurance claim process.
We used Curtiss of Portsmouth. They are part of the White and Co franchise and we had no problems whatsoever with our entire container.
As previously stated, if the OP is taking the matter further with the shipping company , then perhaps the less details on an open forum, the better.

I know we didnt use Pickfords or Crown but we did have had excellent shippers. 
We used John Mason in the UK
And The Moving Company here.
Have no complaints whatsoever. The service at both ends was impeccable and we cannot fault either company.
We would recommend using their services and would use them without a second thought again.

I know we didnt use Pickfords or Crown but we did have had excellent shippers.
