Default PhD student moving to Auckland

Hi all,

I will be moving to Auckland soon in Jan/Feb 2011 for a PhD at UoA(university of Auckland). I've tons of questions to ask............dont know where to begin!

I'm not from the UK but spent about 4.5 years in the UK as a student so I hope I will quite feel like at home here among the new immigrants in NZ. I'll be back soon asking my tons of questions........anyone here often?

Cheers,

AucklandBound

It’s easier to get funded for a PhD in areas like science, technology, mathematics and engineering because your research has foreseeable economic value.

Hi AB, I’m a student here as well and we will endeavour to answer all of your questions (sometimes even in a manner that actually answers the original question!). When you tell people you are studying for a PhD in psychology do they go quiet suddenly and give you this look: ?

I don't think that I ever popped in here but then I have boundary issues and have never quite got the hang of social niceties. Thank heavens you only have to meet me in cyber space where my faux-pas are limited by my typing speed and you can't see my ever present stunned mullet look.
