Those of you who have imported petrol cars that used regular UK unleaded petrol (95 RON), do you fill up with '95' at the NZ pump or have you tried the standard 91 stuff and what effect has it had?

No all European cars have their engines removed and replaced when they arrive!!!

Eurocars will run fine on 91 but if its a concern just put 95 in...simple really

It's not that I'm particularly concerned, my older car survived the change from 4* to unleaded with just a bit of twiddling of the distributor, just wondering how the more modern 'tamper-proof' one might adjust to the change if I did put 91 in.

As they say here....she'll be right!!

If it's an old classic, use 95.

It's the diesels that suffer. Low sulphur fuel causes mayhem with diesel pumps....

My car came from the factory tuned for 98 RON, 91 would do it no good at all. Some cars need decent fuel Audis and VWs newer than mid 2000s for example.
Mine runs fine on most 95 apart from Shell, which made it splutter a bit.

I get about an extra 50km a tank from 98 so it it actually worth the extra for me. About 5% extra cost for the fuel and it goes about 0% further.
