I know a couple quite well who live in Papamoa - moved there from Auckland, if that helps? They adore it.

I was there last weekend, parked right next to the most adorable beach in NZ. Great sand, warm water(I'm told), showers and a clean loo. Litter free beach. Clear blue sky. Loads of space. A quality restaurant 50m away. Just over the hill https://www.google.co.nz/maps/place/...00ef6143a2db60

I am in Brookfield. Been here for 2 weeks ( in NZ for 4 weeks )
I'm really struggling. Have 3 girls 6. 4. 2. I don't like the area (sorry) or the schools. We are trying to get a rental in Papamoa or Welcome Bay.
If anyone would like to help out a very isolated me and my 3 children (hubby is working and met lots of new friends ) please pm me or just respond on here.

Of the two I'd go Papamoa, but just IMO I've found the 'true locals' to be not so friendly but that's prob because I'm an pakeha ex-pom JAFA.

Hi, thank you.
I do get the feeling that people can be very negative on here. I just need some help settling.

Perhaps organise a meet-up one weekend. When I felt the same as you back in 2007, some of the ladies on here took me under their wing and organised a ladies night out in Takapuna. It was great to meet others and talk about my hopes and fears. I'm still very good friends with one of those ladies.
If I was closer I would organise it but I'm too far away sadly.
