Ok quick update as WIFI in this hotel is rubbish!

Just arrived in Lake Taupo this evening after 4 wonderful days in Wellington area!
Had great time meeting up with Poppets, Boopy and special thanks to Danny & Donna F for having us to stay, although next time the whiskey can stay in the cupboard!!

Wellington is a fab city which seems very compact and easy to get in & out of on the train and by car. The suburbs mostly seem like real communities rather than faceless parts of a sprawling city. We only had wind a bit on the last day although when we left today it was working itself up a bit LOL!

I reckon we will seriously consider Welly BUT not until we have visited in the winter I should think! So anyway we're headed back north to AKL for a more serious look at the place. Yes we know we like the Titirangi area up in the Waitakere Range but need to see some other areas too.

More soon!

And thanks again to the wonderful people we met up with in Wellington - you guys made it a great visit there!

It was lovely to meet you and your lovely family, you know we want you to come back to Welly so we'll have to start working on Mrs Paladin
Hope your journey was good, enjoy Taupo and we'll see you soon - we should have just about recovered by then

Hi Jack!

Will do mate no worries, in fact Clare will probably overload the camera taking pics of Titirangi as she likes it so much; the bush up there is spectacular and only 10 mins to New Lyn for all your shopping needs! Property is expensive though!!!!

Yeah Orewa was where we headed when first arrived - VERY nice, as was Warkworth a bit further north. After Rotorua we're going back to AKL for more detailed look about so will take pics & get info!!!

Err yeah that sounds about right LOL!

OK the Paladin clan never being ones to do things by halves have been in AKL for a short time - back to Titirangi & the Waitakere's and YES it feels good up there !!! Shame you have to interact with the western suburbs of New lyn & Henderson for your shopping etc tho as they are not what you'd call attractive to say the least!!! Went to Piha beach but no surfing for me!! Pretty stunning location though!!

OK the big news is we have taken leave of our senses and taken one way flights to Nelson to see the south island!!! OMG! Yes, we are mad but heh someone's gotta do it!!! Arrived here last nite - man every visitor in the country must be down here as its darn hard to find a motel room LOL! Going west today to see Motueka, Takaka, Abel Tasman National Park and Golden Bay!!! Busy busy busy!!

We're gonna see what happens over the next day or 2 - if we don't feel the vibe down here we'll see where we're off to next - hey might even be via Welly who the freek knows!!!!

Take care all!!
Dave
