Default Painter and decorator in the bay of plenty

Hi all, me again, not sure i am putting this in the right area as we are new to this site but here goes anyway, my oh is a painter and i am a nurse and we are looking to move to the bay of plenty (ish), i have a very good chance of work but im not to sure about my partner? We have looked at painters needed throughout NZ and the main place that needs them is Auckland, the ideal area we would like is tauranga but there isnt (at the moment ) any work for my OH (anyone got any links for work in and around that area please) however he is a practical man that can turn his hand to almost anything he puts his mind to so am i worrying about nothing or should we look at other cites/towns as i would prefer for us both to have a work before the move?

Also would it be better to be selfemployed or on the books ? Is there subcontract work available over there?

We are also going to the EXPO at the NEC and wondered if there would be anything there for him? After reading some of the threads i see that a good chunk of you guys arnt so keen on them, are they just agencies trying to get you to part with your money?

Sorry to ask so many Q: im sure they have all been asked before, if it wasnt for this site we would be stuck, Thanks all.

Hope you can help

Thanks again
Jackie

Default Re: Painter and decorator in the bay of plenty

Hi jackie,

Unfortunately there is a shortage of these kinds of jobs at the moment as many builders are out of work and so have turned their hands to this kind of line.

I found one here

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-me-jo...htm?key=795864

Just doing a quick search so there may be more. Your best bet may be to look at www.priorityone.co.nz register for their email updates and they will email you through all the jobs advertised in the Bay Of Plenty Times.

HTH.
