Maybe they have something similar where you live...?

I hope so, as it is just SOOOO cheap

Good luck!
So where is this place, I will be needing some paint in the new year to decorate...

We got our paint from Mitre 10, some Dulux, some British Paints. Dulux far superior and needed only one or two coats to cover, unlike the British Paint. Mitre 10 mix to the colour you want. They wanted to charge $3 per tin for the tinting. I just said no I wasn't paying that due to the fact that getting them to tint it was the only way I could get a tin of paint in the colour I wanted as they didn't sell it by the tin off the shelf. The woman looked a bit perplexed but said ok then and didn't charge me the extra. We decorated most of the house when we first moved in and I've never paid for tinting.

Am going to try The Paint Exchange next time we need some paint though as its mega cheap

$3 ? Rip off ! Have some karma .

Paint is a nightmare shocking price here. It's one of the things that does my head in. Like carpet or curtains. Prepare to part with your gold fillings.

I get Dulux from Mitre10 - I've got used to the price now but really it's not much different to what I was used to paying for quality paint anyway. I bought stuff from B&Q once and needed twice as much as I'd have used if I'd had Dulux so I never did that again!

We pay for tinting here. There are no pre-mixed colours. I get to chat to the person who is doing the job for me and I walk away feeling like I've had a job well done. That's fairly simplistic but it's how I do my business and when I go back I know I'll be greeted with a smile.

This is the type of thing I was used to in the US. Every single paint was white / blank. You state which colour you want, then they mix it for you with precise ingredients for the colour mixes. Maybe this is why it was about the same $ price in the US as it is here (the post I deleted earlier )?

Just for curiousity sake I looked at B&Q's website - there's about £11 in the difference between white and a colour (5L in the white and only 2.5L in the colours) in the Luxurious Silk range so you're paying for the tint anyway - it's just here it's more up front about what you're paying.

I can't edit my earlier post TeamEmbo and on reading it, it looks a bit sharp - I didn't mean it to be. Sorry.
