Overnight stay
We're landing in Auckland at 10.35pm (on July 20th) so will need to stay overnight somewhere then drive to Tauranga the next day - can anyone recommend a good place to stay?

Somewhere near the airport so that you don't need to drive I'd say...make life easy on yourself and easy for the motorway

Bella Vista... used to be called Ventura Auckland Airport.
We have stayed here loads of times and they throw in a free buffet breakfast.
2 minutes from airport and they will pick you up.

We stayed at the Jet Park Hotel. They pick you up at the airport and you can have your car delivered there. Their rates are very reasonable as well plus its a lovely hotel. We booked an overnighter queen room.

There are some dodgy ones about look Ok on line then they are the pits. My son ended up in one the last time he visited.

The Airport Manor Inn has a 24hr shuttle and gives you 2 wks free parking for when you do those trips overseas (not that this is relevant on this ocassion).
It's close to the ariport and newly reburbished - its the one we always use for trips to Aus.

Not forgetting just a short drag of the suitcases across the road from the arrivals area there is the newly completed Novotel.

Re: Overnight stay
Like always it pays to shop around I guess, maybe it depends on whether it's on weekdays or weekends or some such pricing structures.
