Overheard Kiwi Conversation
Just listening to one of my Kiwi colleagues have a conversation with someone on the phone, no idea what it was about, but basically the one side I heard went something like:
Hey Mate
Yeah
Sweet
Thats Sweet As
Yeah Choice Bro
Wicked
Yeah
Sweet, Bro
Sweet, Dude
Yeah
Yeah
Sweet As, Mate
Yeah
See Ya
I tried not to giggle
Hey Mate
Yeah
Sweet
Thats Sweet As
Yeah Choice Bro
Wicked
Yeah
Sweet, Bro
Sweet, Dude
Yeah
Yeah
Sweet As, Mate
Yeah
See Ya
I tried not to giggle

Re: Overheard Kiwi Conversation
An over heard Cornish Conversation would go like this :
Alright Maid,
Proper job
Where's he to ?
Where's that to ?
Ansom,
Right O'
Proper,
See ee Dreckly.
This will sound funny when you try to repeat it in different accents, but in a cornish accent, its just ansom.
Thankfully my cornish accent isn't that broad, but people have said thay can tell where I am from,
Isn't it great all the different local dialects, and accents.
Does anyone else have an overheard conversation in their local dialect ????

Dude!
Whoa...duuuuuude.
Like, no way.
Dude.
Bogus.
Totally, like cha!
Uh-huh.
Chillin'...
Uh-huh.
Fer sure.
Uh-huh.
Later.
(This accent can be sampled by putting on your kids' Finding Nemo DVD. Fast forward to where Nemo's dad is with the sea turtles in the [EAC] East Australia Current. That's a pretty close approximation of the accent I grew up with in California.)

Thanks hppynz,
Thats so funny, I repeated in that "totally cool" Californian accent,
you made me laugh, as did the original post by irnbru, am having a day of hugely mixed emotions, so all laughs are appreciated.
