Our local Warehouse has a vinyl LP section!
I usually avoid the big red shed, but was on a mission to find some tog bags for the kids.
And all of a sudden I was a teenager flipping through all these beautiful, mostly classic, 180gram LP's! I was giddy with excitement. Till I realised I did not have a record player!
Now looking on Trademe!

Yes, it is in it's own cabinet with a glass door. Remember them ? Although I suspect the cabinet is not original i.e. was bought separately.
I paid to have a bit more work done on it and also for a replacement stylus. I still have to be gentle when turning up the volume as it seems reluctant and the company that did the repairs is no longer operating.
The other record player is a flashy bit of kit that can record onto a data stick from vinyl records, cassettes, c.d.'s etc. It's mostly used as a normal stereo. Well, normal for the middle aged who still have records and cassettes as well as c.d.'s.
It was useful for my husband to get his back catalogue music collection onto his ipod.

Coincidentally I was in Real Groovy records on Queen St today doing the same thing. They have probably 3000 LPs at least. But all 2nd hand. Most seemed to be $6. Vinyls making a comeback apparently with afficiados getting a kick out of reading the album cover as they listen rather than a blank download and then showing off their collection. And theres something special about that crackle you get when you place the needle down on the first track. Having said that I ended up buying a CD anyway. Lol.

Yep definitely making a come back and am annoyed that we ditched all our vinyl before moving here. Both my girls have new decks bought from urban outfitters US, about $100 and free shipping. Very girly though as pastel colours and floral prints.

How much do LPs sell for now ?

Depends on what you buy - some can be $20 but a lot of the new ones are probably more $30-$40. My youngest bought 5 albums when we were in LA earlier in the year and they were about $25-$30 US each - and weighed so much too!

That said I'm quite enjoying music generally at the moment.
