Arrow Orpheus Choir in Wellington

Hey...

I spotted an advert for new members for the Orpheus Choir.

Now I've got the itch to get performing again... I was in my high school choir in England and we were in the Schools Choir Competition on ITV/Granada. We got beaten by a choir from Wales in the semi-final so that was OK.

I've also sung at the Royal Albert Hall (Uranus... I think? Planets Suite by Holst, can't remember it was a long time ago!).

Anyway... should I do it? Should I go for an audition? This is a big-ish choir, with 100+ members at the moment, about 50 more than I'm used to!

I should add... I'm a little out of practice, though I sing some every day. If it were a bellydance troupe I'd be in like Flint!

(And a sort-of-related link )

Go for it!!! I joined a company called Sing Live here in the UK and sang at Nottingham Royal Concert Hall (about 250 of us ) and Sheffield Hallam Arena (1000 of us). It was an amazing experience.

Bloody hell those are huuuuuuuge ensembles! Good for you!

And yes I just need to pluck up courage. (like I said, it's been a while, but thankfully I've not embarrassed myself at a karaoke bar yet )

The more peolpe there are around you the less nervous you are. I even auditioned for a solo at Sheffield. Glad I didn't get through though. I don't think the world was ready for a 6 month pregnant lady attempting to sing.

Go for it Maz. You have nothing to lose, well apart from sanity.
