Aww Chippy, a friend of mine in U.k, got very emotional looking at the pics too, its amazing how whales make us feel that way.
Has it made news on TV back in U.K or anywhere else do you know??

No Marika, nothing on news in UK yet - too busy commenting on Posh's new hairstyle and other mega important things like that!

What a great story - must've missed the news. Well done all concerned. As an ex Marine Biologist I have a huge affection for all sea mammals (as well as sharks etc)- great to see the community rallying round to help old Nobby!

However as it's the 2nd time he's done it, and given all the fuss he gets when he's on the beach, I reckon he probably quite enjoyed it and will be back for 3rds!!

Excellent photos thanks. Also having lived in Papamoa (Beach Road), makes it that much more tangible for me.

Makes you want to become a vegan; and join Greenpeace!
