Opening a NZ Bank Acount
 

Hiya, more newbies here! Be gentle!
Anyone got any advice about opening bank accounts - Is it better to open an account over here or wait till we get there? Also which are the best ones to be looking at?
Any help gratefully received.

It is easy to open an NZ account from here,just look for migrant banking/account. From what we saw most banks were ok but we opted for westpac. HTH

We opened one with Kiwi bank, we just emailed them and they sent us the application forms, it was very easy and they were very helpful.

Hi Ya
Its easy to open an account here. We registered for an account before we got to NZ. Then when you arrive just go to a branch with your passport to activate it.
We went for Westpac as they dont charge you for having a visa card. I think the other banks do but don't quote me, just check out their websites.

I heard that the Kiwi banks give 3.5% interest? Is this true, or is the rate better? I wonder how the recession is affecting Kiwiland, the Twin of Japan?
The North Island is Hokkaido, and the South is Honshu. Japan's Shikoku is actually Australia which is way bloated. Kyushu is Greenland.
