Yep, that's where we were headed!

Now, all you experts out there, does this mean it's safer than ever to go now just after an eruption, or more likely to suffer further activity in the immediate aftermath?

If it was me, I'd be sleeping with one eye open. If it was Kev on the other hand, he would be stood on the crater rim given half the chance ( and a little nudge from moi!!!)

My 2 mates were sharing a 6 day break up there. 1 had his 3 days,came back,got the keys handed over,and was stopped on the road leading to it!

A friend who was coming to ours this weekend from Taupo has cancelled as she doesn't want to leave her 21 year old home on her own incase of more activity. Also a friend in Turangi isn't coming either for the same reason? The ski fields may be closed for up to a week and they are monitoring very carefully.

So, plan B, 5 days "somewhere else" next week!
