We used Harold at Go Walkabout (see http://www.go-walkabout.co.uk/), they do specific Emigration cover.

Was 120 quid odd for the 5 of us (including an extension from the standard 17 days as we holidayed in the States on the way), but the cover is good.

... got 17 days family cover (2 adults, 2 kids), all the usual coverage/benefits, about 40 quid. Worldwide cover including USA. This was only end of May so shouldn't have gone up too much, if at all.

We used Southern Cross - they were by far the best and will insure you for a limited time whilst you are in NZ so you have time to sort out a more permanent policy. They're very competitive and being an NZ company are a lot easier to get hold of. If you insure with a UK company you've got to get through to a busy call centre with the added complication of trying to do this with the time difference between NZ and the UK. Their website is www.southerncross.co.nz
