In the Bay of Plenty supposedly but Phil01 keeps selling the Northlands to me so who knows

We will travel anyway as we do here. Nothing better than getting up at 5.30am on a Sunday morning only to get to the track and have to stand in the field marshalling. Oh I am so blessed.

Was a definite worry of mine-boredom-but joined a footy team, started swimming, walking, driving, having meals in with friends, shivering, cheap good wine, listening to massive exhausts, avoiding polished Police cars-never looked back!!

The biggest problem with NZ is boredom. It really is a boring place to live. Well I find it about as exciting as watching the grass grow. Any one else?
I would tend to agree, but it's OK for us now as we wanted a quieter life.
If our kids were younger, say under 10 we would probably be pulling our hair out now wondering what we could do next. They are now both teenagers, so not so much of a problem.
I still think the UK is far better for younger children, so much more to do & see.

Good god...the ambulance crews are Freemasons? You learn something every day...

NZ is a place for families with young kids, retirees, bookish types, mountain climbers ...not yuppies (and their puppies).

People who either never go out or never stay in..basically.

It's not a place for coffee shop intellectuals...despite all the coffee shops.

Thank goodness for the Internet, eh?

Depends where you're from in the UK, there is so much more for our kids to do here in Chch than we ever had in rural Aberdeenshire - unless you like castles and distilleries (which I did by the way!)

I'm too depressed at this moment to go into the whys and wherefores but I couldn't agree more - NZ IS very, very boring.
