We live a bit further north in Waikuku. Lovely area and really easy to get into Chch.

we stayed there on holiday last year and although we only stayed for 2 weeks, it was a sweet little rural place, I would definitely consider moving there if or when the time comes

We lived there for 2 years, School is decile 10 but bullying is rife, 5 kids moved in one year, 3 English and rumors of sexual misconduct.
Also the boy racers have it as a favorite haunt at weekends. It's very much an in crowd kind of place.

As you may gather I hated it.

We live the otherside of Tram Road now, a bit away from Ohoka, but I have heard the boy racers at night, and seen the tyre marks the next day

The Tram Road has quite a bit of history to it.. was the main route to Oxford .. a big logging centre ... anything north of the Waimak (river) tends to have longer commute times into Chch.. has pretty flat land with fairly stoney ground in places ..when I was there a 10 acre block with a 6 inch bore hole and 3 phase electricity to the boundary was less than $200k...nice place to live!
