Oh how I hate the emotive language that article used. There will be advance warning if anything is brewing, and even then, it's unlikely anything will happen in our lifetime.

I have an uninterrupted view of Rangitoto across the bay, its right in front of me
although i think its more than 6km away but cant see that making a difference to
the size of wave that will wash me away
