Excuse me???? I've already said on here a few times that I've whinged about things in 'WANGANUI' not New Zealand!!
And my posts of lately been positive, so you can keep your nose out! Plus I don't go in every post and slag NZ off, Christ almighty
And I might add your back in England but still come onto the NZ forum? Enough said in my opinion

If you purchase the Cineworld unlimited card, you can see as many films as you want for 18 pounds per month.
When we lived in central Lodnon, we saw at least 10 films per month, often more. This works out REALLY CHEAP.
Just out of curiosity, why do you always need to score points?

My point is simply that there are cities in this world that are special that offer it all, great history, great art, great entertainment, great universities, great businesses, great architecture and these cities attract many people from everywhere which in turn make these cities even greater. London is one of them. Auckland is not. So it seems fairer to me to pay more for things in a city like London because it offers so much more than plain, dull Auckland. But it seems that London might not be so expensive after all as benhila points out which makes Auckland's prices even more ridiculous in my view.
What I don't understand is how the comparison you now make wasn't apparent to you before you moved to NZ?
But whilst London is a world city, Auckland is a remote city, New Zealand is a remote country. Remote destinations with low populations tend to have a higher cost of living due to a number of economic factors.

What many people think they know about the country they choose to move to & how they see their lives there, is quite often not quite how it pans out once actually arrived, living and working. That can be seen through the thousands of posts all around BE.
It's that simple really.

I get your general point. London is a world city and therefore it can be pricey.

I think this thread has kinda outworn its welcome now.
If any one wants a rant (and you are welcome to) please start it off in the sheep dip.
Thanks guys and gals. Thread closed.
