NZ Violent Crime and Drinking is right up there with the worst
 
Two interesting reports today suggesting that violent crime and binge drinking in NZ is right up there with the worst countries.

No great surprise to me, I think much of NZ's appeal is that there are only 4.5m people here.

Yes NZ has a huge drink/violence problem. From a very selfish stand point it is easy to stay well clear of it all in Palmy, probably most places infact. Drink in the bars frequented by old gits like me and get a taxi or walk home WELL before midnight. Thats when all the aggro begins in Palmy apparently.

I don't know why the law does not come down HARD on those found guilty of violent/drunken crimes.
