Question NZ van lines - additional charges help

Hello
I know there's a lot on NZ van lines and adding costs to MAF fees etc. So I'm hoping someone can tell me if it's usual (and acceptable/ ok) for them to add other charges too? They are adding fees for admin related services ie. raising the MAF invoice! I am a little peeved considering when we booked with PSS I thought we'd paid door to door packing/ unpacking etc etc everything apart from the MAF fees.

Did anyone else get these fees added to their invoice and did you pay them? Do you think these should be explained to us by PSS seeing as they sell a door to door service?

The description of fees is something like 'completion of BACC redirection (?), securing MAF appointment, invoicing, documentation, obtaining final clearances and accounting to MAF'. They are charging $100 for this and it sounds like a load of bull to me so I thought I'd ask on here to see what your thoughts are.

On top of this, we had a right nightmare with customs and we had no help in sorting it out.
Thanks in advance

We were invoiced for that from NZ Vanlines too - we paid for the full service excluding MAF fees! DO NOT pay them - give your removal co-ordinator a call explaining you have already paid it. I didn't even call them, I just didn't pay them and still haven't heard anything from them months later.

Tell them to stick it!! If they require more money, they should go back to who you booked with, not yourselves.

I had my shipment delivered (finally) by NZ Van lines last week after shipping with PSS...I live in west Auckland, and they got the address wrong (they went to the NOrth Shore)...luckily I happened to be at home, as I got a call from them saying they were outside and just going to drop my stuff off in a sheltered spot...I obviously went outside...no where to be seen as they had the wrong address! So, it was a good thing I was at home, as my stuff would never have been seen again probably, after making it all the way from the UK.
Going back to original question I clearly remember PSS saying that everything was paid for at the UK end so it cleared customs and got to your property in NZ. I will NOT be paying NZ Van Lines anything....let us all stick to our guns!!!
