NZ is REALLY, REALLY beautiful.
Its the 5th day of winter. The sky in the Manawatu (lower north island) has been vivid blue all day. In the sun its really warm. The back drop is the Tararua Ranges. It's dry and just soooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful even here in lowly palmerston North. I so love this country and the space and beauty that is always on your doorstep. I have never ever taken for granted the beauty that surrounds me and the endless space afforded me by this incredibly underpopulated country. I came from inner city UK so even the Manawatu is akin to the Garden of Eden from my frame of reference!!
NZ even with all its many, many faults is an utterly wonderful and awe inspiring place to live. Bloody marvelous.

Could not agree more we are still staying with friends although looking for a house now, currently we are sitting on the decking a little sun trap and its glorious.
I hear a lot off bad rap about palmy but i think its nice, we are in kelvin grove.

Okay Simon just to please you, here is a photo of my son on a school trip this afternoon, planting at a local reserve here in Kapiti - beautiful, warm and sunny!
