I once got a talking to in the UK by a copper...picking up my mate from work in central london and looking for the turning/concentrating on traffic/listening to sat nav and managed to go through a red light at about 10 mph....followed by my mate pointing out running the light and then that there was a cop car behind me!

They pulled up next to me at the next lights and asked if i realised.....gabbled out the "oh so sorry - don't know what happeened - was looking for turning" etc and they let me go with a "be more careful"

I shan't mention my run in with the coppas here after my mate being asked to leave Bobbys strip club on our girls weekend in Mt Maunagnui at Easter weekend

This is excellent - the policemen I have come into contact here are brilliant and do a great job. I have respect for anyone in the emergency services

oddly enough I've had more 'hassle' with the cops over here than I ever did back 'ome. I drive just the same as I did there, (not always within the law - I'll be honest), but I do choose the places to "speed", ie not in towns, near schools, when it's wet, blah blah.

Here, I feel, we are seen as a cash cow to be milked. Cops seem unable to think the situation through and way too much gets dumped into the too hard basket - but that's just my opinion.
