NZ mobile phones
Hi all,
I'm arriving in NZ in a week from Canada.
My query is about mobile phones. My gf and I are both bringing unlocked phones with us and are considering whether it is worth us both having a phone, or to share one. Can anyone help out by recommending a service provider or deal? We're hoping to get a sim-only deal.
Any thoughts are appreciated

Spark and vodafone are the big two with the best coverage
I tried telecom (renamed to spark) when I arrived 8 years ago and found it to be terrible.
poor coverage and very poor customer service, apparently things have changed since then.
Im with vodafone and have never had any issues.
you can check out their deals and prices online and compare them to others, which i
think is a better way to do it than asking around, as deals and rates change all the time

Two Degrees is a popular mobile phone network. They have retail outlets all over New Zealand.
You could add them to the list for your internet search.

Have a look at SKINNY. Free calling between SKINNY mobiles, this could be very useful.

I would look at the area coverage for any of the companies as well as roaming costs as you get these outside certain ranges

I am on 2degrees and find I nearly always have coverage (there is a random spot in Hagley Park where I don't for some reason but other than that I am sweet) and it's cheap. Skinny is cheapest though I can't comment on how good or not they are.
