It is adapted from a book by one of New Zealand's best authors. I think they made more of the youngsters character and the social worker than in the book, but it is very well done. I'd recommend it.

Totally over the top but somehow gets away with it. Really enjoyed it.

It's enjoyable. Over-hyped a bit, because it's very Kiwi. IMO.

I saw it on TV and liked it, mainly cos I like the kid (Julian Dennison) he's quite the comedian and his manner makes me laugh . If it weren't for him I probably wouldn't have bothered to watch.

Try Pete's Dragon, filmed just down the road from me in Tapanui, or Pork Pie which which has sunny Gore as a backdrop

I've seen a film called Housebound, though it was fairly decent, maybe a 7/10. Filmed in NZ (although not sure where). It's a horror comedy. Worth a watch if that's your kinda thing.

My favourite NZ film is The Dark Horse, well worth a watch.
