The 'choice' for bacon in NZ is either smoked or smoked. The bacon rashers either crumble when it's cooked or just goes soggy. I've just about given up with 'shoulder bacon'. What about some proper rashers ? Same for pre-packaged deli ham, i.e. smoked or smoked.

Anyway, I made a fabulous fruit salad yesterday (not a feoja in sight !). Tonight I will cook roast pork. Tomorrow will be steak. New Years Day will be lamb chops. Delicious.

Talk to each other guys & sort - it - out . Don't need carp here ( pun intended) TBH.


I can't stick the rashers here. I want good gammon but it isn't going to happen any time soon.

I prefer trout over salmon any day & any fresh oily fish but I do without because the fish and seafood here is a big dis-appointment to me.
I've adapted.
