Re: NZ (Auckland) vs Tenerife
Aaarrrggghhh! What is wrong with you people ;-)
Tenerife....to live! With round the clock idiot tourists, timeshare rip off merchants, lucky lucky cheaper than Tesco price men selling crap on the street/beach, black sand, volcanic deserts, crazy high summer temps and freakish weather.
Don't get me wrong. Its a fine place for a holiday to unwind and have a blow out - I've been many times and travelled all over the island, but to live there, work there, bring the kids up there etc, you really think it's better than NZ ? Couldn't think of anything worse than being stuck on a tiny island and dodging the tourists on their hired mopeds.
Seems we do have differing opinions :-)

Never been in Tenerife, but loving NZ so far. I wouldnt consider Spain to live.
Spain economy is not... good. Wages are shit, lots of unemployement, lots of spanish a-holes blaming immigrants for everything while collecting their checks for not getting a job.
Socialists gaining ground on the political arena... its not going to get any better.
Weather might be more pleasant though, but if you are used to cold rainy weather, NZ will be a walk in the park.

'THE Government of the Canary Islands has summoned an emergency meeting to analyse the recent seismic activity in Tenerife after more than 90 mini quakes were recorded.'
