Nursing Uniforms - NZ
 

Hi All,

What kind of uniforms do nurses wear in NZ? Do employers provide these or do you provide your own? Do DHB etc have certain specifications?

All the ones I have seen wear scrubs - presumably supplied by the DHB

If you will be working at Wellington Hospital, it is black or navy trousers & a white tunic with a small green & navy stripe on the collar. The DHB will provide your uniform. They will provide 3 tunics, 1 navy cardigan & you have a choice if you want shorts (these are more like cullottes). :)

The uniforms I've had as a midwife over here have been horrible, nylon, static-inducing things. Not a patch on the NHS ones. Used to wear my own trousers as the work-wear ones were horrific.

Lakes DHB also provide a uniform. :thumbsup:
We get a choice of a royal blue tunic or scrub top and standard royal blue trousers. ;)
What FTE you are dictates how many uniforms you receive, for example 1.0 FTE gets 5 tops and 3 trousers.

Ooo I'm coming to Lakes it will have to be scrubs, there like wearing your PJ's to work :D

Dark blue uniform they always reminded me of pjs. Really comfortable and I loved the fact I didn't have to think about what I was wearing.. DHB has a laundry facility too. :)
